The Gower peninsular, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, has some of the finest locations for walking, cycling, golf and water sports. The Gower coast is accoladed for its unspoilt landscape of cliffs and woodlands, ringed by sparkling beaches.

Swansea Bay hosts a wide selection of hotels, restaurants or public houses, offering a variety of dining experiences often with a marvellous coastal view included. The new Leisure Centre by the National Waterfront Museum, near the city shopping area, features slides and tubes, as well as the opportunity to hone your surfing skills on a never-ending wave.

The Gower’s wide variety of landscapes, cycle routes and footpaths are perfect for exploration. The unspoilt woodlands, beaches, salt marsh and rivers are perfect habitats for a bewildering array of wildlife.

A bird-watcher's paradise, guillemot, kingfisher and nuthatches can be spotted, with recent sitings listed at Gower Ornithological Society. Hides can be found at The National Wetlands Centre of Wales. The Gower also hosts many species of bat, breeding habitats for butterflies and numerous fish, amphibians and water plants.

Rhossili Bay has been voted Wales' Best Beach 2017 and one of the UK's Top 10 Beaches for five years running in the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards AND was the first beach to be awarded Britain's Best Beach for two years in succession!

The impressive 20,000 seat Liberty Stadium is home to Swansea City FC, currently enjoying its best spell of top flight football in 30 years. It is also home to The Ospreys - one of the strongest rugby sides in the UK. A state-of-the-art attraction for all ages adding to Swansea’s profile as a ‘City of Sport’.

Talks are afoot between Swansea Council and Swansea University to develop a water based research facility and an Aquarium – a ‘Hydro Hub’.
